Your CTC (Cost to Company) and your actual monthly in-hand salary are very different numbers. CTC includes components like employer PF contribution, gratuity accrual, and other benefits that you never see in your bank account. This calculator takes your gross CTC and works out the real take-home salary after deducting employee PF, professional tax, and income tax under the new regime for FY 2025-26.

The new tax regime for FY 2025-26 offers a standard deduction of ₹50,000 and a tax rebate under Section 87A for income up to ₹7 lakh, effectively making it tax-free. Employee PF is calculated at 12% of basic salary, capped at ₹1,800 per month (on basic of ₹15,000). Professional tax varies by state — Maharashtra charges ₹2,400 per year, while some states like Delhi don't have it at all. The income tax calculation here uses the new regime slabs and includes a 4% health and education cess.

When evaluating a job offer, always ask for the full CTC breakup — basic, HRA, special allowance, employer PF, and variable components. A higher CTC with a low basic can mean less take-home than a moderate CTC with a high basic, because PF is calculated on basic and income tax treatment of HRA depends on basic. Use this calculator to compare offers on an apples-to-apples basis.
